About Me
Hello!
I'm Ben, alias Firefly, and have been passionately composing and creating music for 10 years. I am primarily a soundtrack composer, aiming to score video games, film, TV, advertising and live experiences. I am confident in my own contemporary style that works with a variety of styles, and have the tools and the skillset to be flexible and achieve genre specific music.
My musical journey started through using my ear to write and improvise my own piano pieces from the age of 12. From the age of 14, I started using a DAW to compose music in my spare time and studied music in high school, taking inspiration from the modern greats such as Hans Zimmer and Ludwig Göransson. I went on to study games design at college, where I began to follow my passion of becoming a soundtrack composer by creating the music for the games I would design. I won every sound award that my college had to offer for each project.
I left college with a distinction, enrolling into The Academy of Contemporary Music, where I am working towards an Honours degree in composition. To this day I continue to develop my skills and expand my sound library to become a valuable asset to a multitude of media industries. I soon hope to begin my career specializing in scoring film, TV, games, advertisements or even theme park soundtracks.
